About Haringey

Haringey is a fantastic place to live and work – the world in one borough. A place brimming with creativity, personality, radicalism, and community. It is a place where we stand up for each other. A place that is proudly distinctive. We’ll be celebrating all this and more as the “rebel borough” when we are the 2027 London Borough of Culture.
Our history champions change-makers and everyday rebels; revelling in our differences, battling discrimination, championing equality, and doing things our own way. Haringey’s people are a huge asset, with knowledge, expertise, and passion. Our staff members embody our organisational values: Caring, Creative, Courageous, Collaborative and Community-focused. These values keep us looking forward, ambitious for the future, and continuously striving to do our very best for all of our residents.

About the role

In this role, you will support the design, development, and maintenance of Windows-based infrastructure and cloud-based solutions. You will provide comprehensive support and guidance to project managers and project teams, ensuring the successful technical delivery of solutions. Acting as a technical SME, you will manage and collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, leveraging your expertise to drive forward initiatives and projects. Additionally, you will implement secure and scalable infrastructure solutions that adhere to industry best practices, ensuring the robustness and efficiency of our digital frameworks. You will also be responsible for conducting thorough assessments and evaluations of existing infrastructure, identifying areas for improvement, and implementing necessary upgrades. Furthermore, you will create detailed technical documentation, deliver training sessions to staff, and provide ongoing support to ensure the seamless operation of our systems. Your role will involve staying up-to-date with the latest technological advancements, continuously enhancing your skills and knowledge to contribute to the organisation’s success.

About the team

You will lead a team of infrastructure engineers within the Technology Service (Infrastructure Section), collaborating with colleagues to provide support for Windows-based and cloud-based solutions. You’ll manage and mentor your team, oversee operations, and ensure high availability and reliability of services. You will also work on cloud platforms like Microsoft Azure or AWS, providing technical guidance to ensure projects align with organisational objectives and comply with standards.

About you

You should have comprehensive experience and in-depth knowledge of core Windows infrastructure technologies and management, as well as MS 365 functions and applications. This includes but is not limited to, understanding the architecture, deployment, and management of Windows servers, Active Directory, Group Policy, and Exchange, as well as proficiency with MS 365 services such as SharePoint, OneDrive, Teams, and Outlook.

You will possess excellent stakeholder management skills, with the ability to communicate effectively across both technical and non-technical stakeholders, whether internal or external to the organisation. This involves translating complex technical concepts into clear, understandable language for non-technical personnel, and ensuring that stakeholders are kept informed and engaged throughout the project lifecycle. Your adeptness at stakeholder communication will be crucial in building strong relationships and fostering collaboration across different teams and departments. Furthermore, your ability to convey the value and impact of technical solutions in a relatable manner will help in driving alignment and achieving organisational goals.
