Accessibility statement

This accessibility statement applies to jobs.haringey.gov.uk

This website is run by TMP (UK) Ltd. We want as many people as possible to be able to use this website. For example, that means you should be able to:

  • change colours, contrast levels and fonts
  • zoom in up to 300% without the text spilling off the screen
  • navigate most of the website using just a keyboard
  • navigate most of the website using speech recognition software
  • listen to most of the website using a screen reader (including the most recent versions of JAWS, NVDA and VoiceOver)

We’ve also made the website text as simple as possible to understand.

AbilityNet has advice on making your device easier to use if you have a disability.

Technical information about this website’s accessibility

TMP (UK) Ltd. is committed to making its website accessible, in accordance with the Public Sector Bodies (Websites and Mobile Applications) (No. 2) Accessibility Regulations 2018. This website is partially compliant with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines version 2.2 AA standard, due to the non-compliances listed below.

Non-accessible content

The content listed below is non-accessible for the following reasons.

  • WCAG 2.4.2 Page titled (PDF): The page title is missing from the document settings.
  • WCAG 1.1.1 Non-text content (PDF): The two ‘Haringey London’ logo images and the tick image next to the ‘DBS check?’ text do not have alternative text.
  • WCAG 2.4.7 Focus Visible: The focus is barely visible on the ‘Apply With LinkedIn’ button under the ‘Want to fill this form faster?’ heading. Since it’s a third-party widget embedded from LinkedIn, we don’t have control over it.
  • WCAG 2.1 (AA), WCAG 2.0 (AA), WCAG 2.2 (AA) Color contrast: On the Job application form, a few elements of color don’t meet the minimum color contrast ratio of 4.5:1.
  • WCAG 2.2 (AA): All touch targets must be 24px large, or leave sufficient space
All touch targets must be 24px large, or leave sufficient space

Non-compliance with the accessibility regulations

Disproportionate burden

  • WCAG 2.4.2 Page titled (PDF): The page title is missing from the document settings.
  • WCAG 1.1.1 Non-text content (PDF): The two ‘Haringey London’ logo images and the tick image next to the ‘DBS check?’ text do not have alternative text.
  • WCAG 2.4.7 Focus Visible: The focus is barely visible on the ‘Apply With LinkedIn’ button under the ‘Want to fill this form faster?’ heading. Since it’s a third-party widget embedded from LinkedIn, we don’t have control over it.

Further testing would be a disproportionate burden at this stage, and remediation would also require removing the PDF and ‘Apply with LinkedIn’ feature.

Content that’s not within the scope of the accessibility regulations

Third-party cookie preference tools and free third-party functionality of embedded videos from Vimeo and YouTube may have some non-accessible elements.

WCAG 2.1, 2.4 Keyboard Navigation

Free third-party functionality. Embedded videos hosted on YouTube, Vimeo, and other media players include non-accessible elements that are native to the video platform. For example, some users may find the controls awkward to navigate. This fails WCAG criteria 2.1 and 2.4, concerning keyboard accessibility and navigability.
