About the role

The Senior Building Safety Manager is key in delivering the Housing Services Improvement Plan, focusing on life safety-critical regulatory compliance programmes. This role leads the Building Safety Team, ensuring compliance with the Building Safety Act 2022 and the Fire Safety Act 2021. Key tasks include developing compliance programmes, conducting safety inspections and risk assessments, engaging with stakeholders to promote safety, and providing team training. The manager maintains records, prepares reports, and implements continuous improvement initiatives to enhance safety processes.
Additionally, the manager oversees risk management by conducting inspections and audits, engages with residents and stakeholders to ensure clear communication on safety measures, and provides training for the team. The role also involves staying updated on regulations and best practices to enhance building safety management.

About the team

As the Senior Building Safety Manager, you will lead a team of four Building Safety Managers. Your responsibilities include ensuring the safety and compliance of our high-rise buildings in Haringey. You will provide leadership, guidance, and support to your team, develop safety protocols, conduct inspections, and engage with stakeholders to promote a culture of safety. By fostering collaboration, you will ensure our buildings remain safe and secure.

About you

You will be a professional practitioner in fire and structural safety-related disciplines in occupied residential premises, with expert-level knowledge of the regulatory framework concerning health and safety legislation and best practices in building fire and structural safety. You will be an excellent problem solver and creative thinker who can prioritise tasks and work well under pressure. We seek a highly evolved leader with the ability to coach, engage, and inspire a team of professionals and support staff, fostering a collaborative and proactive environment to ensure the highest standards of safety are maintained. Your expertise and leadership will be instrumental in driving our safety initiatives and ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations.
