About the Role
We are looking for a candidate who has experience conducting on site based fire risk assessments, fire safety inspections, and other general fire safety reports. They will be key in identifying potential hazards and developing and implementing robust fire safety protocols and evacuation plans across the Council’s corporate portfolio of buildings.
The candidate will also be asked to monitor compliance with fire safety legislation and regulations and provide reports to management. Some assistance in the specification, tendering and project management of fire safety-related works and projects, will also be required.
About the Team
The role will be situated within the Technical Compliance Team and will report to the technical Compliance Manager. The small, dynamic team consists of the Technical Compliance Manager, Asbestos Specialist, Fire Safety Manager, Data Officer and Safety and Compliance Officer.
About You
The successful candidate will have:
• Level 4 Diploma in Fire Risk Assessment.
• Qualification certificate from a valid fire safety organisation such as IFE.
• Membership of a recognised fire safety organization.
• A relevant Health and Safety qualification e.g. NEBOSH General Certificate and/or NEBOSH Fire Safety and Risk Management.
• IFE Level 3 Certificate in Passive Fire Protection, or equivalent.
The candidate will preferably have at least five years’ experience in a fire risk assessor role, including the assessment of large, complex premises, including (high risk) premises that fall within the remit of the Building Safety Regulator & Building Safety Act 2022
