About the Role

The role is a community-based worker who forms part of Haringey’s Maya Angelou Family Group Conference Service and works as part of a team of practitioners, co-ordinating and facilitating Family Group Conferences (FGC) across the London Borough of Haringey.
Supporting family members to identify solutions to the concerns as highlighted by professionals and develop a Family Action Plan to address these concerns.

About You

  • Relevant professional qualification in Social Care, Health or Education qualification equivalent to NVQ level 4 or HNC, HND or Bachelor’s Degree.
  • FGC accreditation.
  • Experience of working directly with children and their families to promote their welfare
  • Experience of dealing with child protection issues.
  • Experience at helping parents and the extended family state the viewpoints and opinions whilst receiving professional support.
  • The ability to communicate and engage effectively with clients to ensure their understanding of the Family Group Conference Service.
  • The capacity to remain impartial throughout the Family Group Conference process.
