About the Role

Haringey Adult Learning Service is seeking to recruit a Curriculum Manager for Functional Skills & Career Development.
The Curriculum Manager will be responsible for leading and managing a curriculum area team to ensure the delivery of a high quality Functional Skills and Career Development programme, supporting Haringey’s residents towards work, further training and the transferable skills they need to flourish. The postholder will line manage area tutors and performance manage all aspects of the curriculum. Part of the management team within the adult education service, the Curriculum Manager will work proactively to deliver a locally responsive offer that maintains high quality as defined by the new OFSTED framework and carries meaningful impact on the working, family and community lives of learners in Haringey.

About the Team

The Curriculum Manager will lead a team of part-time and hourly-paid tutors delivering functional skills (English, Maths and Digital skills) and career development programmes.
You will be part of the management team that helps lead the direction and delivery of Haringey Learns (the council’s adult education service).

About You

To be successful in this role you will need to have  experience of managing a team of tutors delivering top quality learning experience. An accomplished manager, leader and networker, you will have a proven track record of developing and delivering innovative and high quality curriculum relevant to local needs, as the service is currently working to contribute to Haringey council priorities around employability and inequality. You will have a strong understanding of funder/government expectation, sector norms and the rapid contextual change currently being experienced by the FE and Adult skills sector.
This would suit someone with a quick thinking, energetic approach who can cut to the heart of a range of issues. You will be able to motivate and performance manage and understand how to ensure improvement. A grasp of current priorities, including those of the GLA, the new Ofsted framework, functional skills reform and digital entitlement is essential.
Applicants should hold a PGCE or equivalent degree level qualification and be a subject specialists in English, Maths or Digital skills.
