About the Role
The role involves providing professional business support to facilitate the efficient delivery of frontline services for the council. The candidate is responsible for ensuring that services are delivered effectively, within the required timescales, and in accordance with corporate policies and service operating guidelines. Collaboration with various services is essential to quickly identify and address any risks, issues, or opportunities that may impact service delivery.
Additionally, the candidate will be expected to champion continuous improvement efforts, ensuring that services are as efficient and streamlined as possible. A focus on maintaining a high standard of quality, working to a “right first time, every time” approach, is key to ensuring consistency and excellence in service provision.
About You
The role involves providing effective business support to meet the statutory and operational requirements of Children’s Services. This includes proactively developing skills, knowledge, and abilities to deliver high-quality support, while staying informed about policies, procedures, and legislation that impact the role. By maintaining up-to-date knowledge, the candidate ensures accurate service information and advice, and is prepared for job rotation as needed. They are also responsible for organizing and prioritizing their workload, adjusting targets or deadlines as necessary to manage conflicting demands, all while adhering to the Council’s policies and procedures.
Additionally, the candidate must liaise professionally and cooperatively with Business Support staff and service users, presenting a positive image of the service. They are expected to provide cover for colleagues when needed and take on additional tasks consistent with the duties of an agile work environment. Communication with line management is crucial, with regular reports and presentations to ensure management is kept informed of any planned changes or developments.
