About the role

Enthusiastic experienced AMHP required to join a stable and busy AMHP Service in a multi-cultural vibrant part of North London.
To act as an AMHP within the scope of both the Mental Health Act 1983 (MHA 1983) (as amended 2007) and the Mental Capacity Act 2005 (MCA 2005) to ensure that legislative requirements for assessment and, where necessary detention, are met whilst ensuring patient’s rights are upheld.
The role sits within a small AMHP Duty Service comprising of mainly social workers and a nurse however would welcome AMHPs other professionals to contribute to a borough wide statutory service.

About you

You will need the following:

  • AMHP Qualification
  • Significant experience of working as an AMHP
  • Professional Qualification (e.g. Social Worker)
  • Registered with professional authority (e.g. Social Work England)
  • Good working knowledge of the Mental Health Act 1983 as amended in 2007 and Mental Health Code of Practice
  • Good working knowledge of the Mental Capacity Act 2005 and the Care Act 2014
  • Good working knowledge of the Human Rights Act 1998
