About the role

In this role, you will be required to provide high quality welfare support, information and advice to tenants claiming UC as well as legacy benefits, ensuring that residents understand and make claims appropriately. You will investigate and implement any initiatives to minimise the impact of welfare reforms and primarily UC, working with both internal and external partners and agencies to identify various options for tenants, to mitigate the impact of transitioning to UC and ensure Haringey council’s rental income is paid.
You will working within the Financial Inclusion team which is made up of highly experienced individuals with backgrounds in Welfare Benefits and Housing Benefits. We are part of the Income management team and support Council tenants and those in Temporary Accommodation with sustaining their tenancy and maximising their income.

About you

Knowledge and a good working experience of Universal Credit and working within the social housing sector.
Experience of working with general needs and temporary accommodation within local authority is essential.
You will need to have extensive knowledge of welfare reforms and upcoming Universal Credit managed migration.
