About the Role
We are seeking a highly motivated Senior Practitioner who is deeply committed to long-term work with children and young people in our care. The ideal candidate will possess exceptional skills in developing and maintaining strong relationships to support and advocate for the well-being of these individuals. Your primary goal will be to drive positive change in their lives, improving their outcomes through compassionate and consistent engagement. This role requires collaboration with families, statutory agencies, and third-sector organizations to deliver a high-quality social work service that prioritizes the stability, safety, and permanent care arrangements for children and young people.
As a Senior Practitioner, you will be responsible for undertaking Corporate Parent Responsibility, ensuring the robust implementation of care plans that meet the holistic needs of those in your care. You will be actively involved in child protection and safeguarding inquiries, conducting thorough assessments, and progressing permanency plans through adoption, special guardianship, or long-term foster care. Additionally, this role involves court work, including the preparation of quality statements, and active participation in team meetings and service-related activities to contribute to the overall success of our programs.
About You
The Senior Practitioner will conduct timely assessments to manage risk and need, delivering protective services for children in care. They will collaborate with families and agencies to create and implement care plans, produce court statements, and provide evidence on behalf of the Local Authority. The role includes promoting child welfare, preparing reports, maintaining current knowledge of legislation, and managing an individual caseload effectively. They will also maintain accurate records, monitor case expenditures, participate in supervision, and contribute to service development, while adhering to health and safety policies and reporting any concerns of malpractice. Duties may vary as needed.
