About the role

You will be required to hold a small caseload of complex cases and provide case management, guidance, support and expert advice to social care staff.

You will need to provide professional supervision for social care staff including undertaking regular case file audits, and to identify continuing professional development and training needs of the staff working with the Team Manager to meet these needs.

Undertake emergency and other assessments of needs, risks and options for adults with the most complex/high risk care needs and/or circumstances, in accordance with legislative requirements, all relevant policies and procedures and agreed performance targets.

You will need to undertake Safeguarding Enquiries under Section 42 of the Care Act 2014 and carry out the Safeguarding Adults Manager role and assist the Team Manager in leading, setting and implementing a performance management framework and ambitious service performance targets, practice, standards and competences in the team.

You need experience of Transition to Adulthood work and to be willing to lead in an area of practice.

The team consists of social workers, reviewing officers and social work officers. We work jointly with health colleagues who provide clinical support across the 3 localities. This vacancy is in the East Locality which covers the east of the borough of Haringey.

About you

You will need a Bsc or Masters in Social Work and have experience of working within an integrated team is desirable. Supervisory experience needed as will be required to line manage several members of staff and you will need to be willing to work under pressure and to have a holistic approach.

You will need the ability to respond to complaints and deal with members enquiries and have the ability to write clear and accurate reports and respond to Freedom of Information requests. Proficiency in the use of IT and data protection legislation.
