About Haringey
Haringey is a fantastic place to live and work – the world in one borough. A place brimming with creativity, personality, radicalism, and community. It is a place where we stand up for each other. A place that is proudly distinctive. We’ll be celebrating all this and more as the “rebel borough” when we are the 2027 London Borough of Culture.
Our history champions change-makers and everyday rebels; revelling in our differences, battling discrimination, championing equality, and doing things our own way. Haringey’s people are a huge asset, with knowledge, expertise, and passion. Our staff members embody our organisational values: Caring, Creative, Courageous, Collaborative and Community-focused. These values keep us looking forward, ambitious for the future, and continuously striving to do our very best for all of our residents.
About the role
Haringey Council is seeking a Parks Driver (Tractor – Landscape) to join our newly formed Landscape team within the Parks service. We are looking for a dedicated and passionate individual to bring their skills and expertise to our team. As a Parks Driver, you will be responsible for maintaining our parks and public spaces to a high standard, utilising both agricultural and non-agricultural vehicles and techniques. Your work will span all the borough’s parks and greenspaces, where you will undertake key tasks, promote safe working practices, and ensure compliance with regulations and safety guidelines. This role involves various grounds maintenance and horticultural activities, seasonal work, and traded services. If you are enthusiastic about agricultural machinery, gardening, and landscaping, we encourage you to apply for this exciting opportunity to join our team at Haringey Council.
About the team
We are looking for individuals who can work effectively in small teams on a daily basis. As a Parks & Greenspace frontline Parks Driver, you will undertake driving tasks using both agricultural and non-agricultural vehicles equipped with attachments for turf management, renovation, and hedge maintenance. This role involves working in all weather conditions, but our teams are dedicated to making the local environment a pleasant place to visit, no matter what.
About you
As part of your generic responsibilities, you will be expected to understand and follow guidelines that ensure compliance with Health and Safety at Work, General Data Protection, and other statutory requirements. You will also demonstrate a commitment to promoting and implementing the Council’s Equal Opportunities policies. A basic knowledge and experience of using IT is required. Additionally, you will undertake any other temporary responsibilities aligned with the overall purpose and grade of the role.
