About Haringey
Haringey is a fantastic place to live and work – the world in one borough. A place brimming with creativity, personality, radicalism, and community. It is a place where we stand up for each other. A place that is proudly distinctive. We’ll be celebrating all this and more as the “rebel borough” when we are the 2027 London Borough of Culture.
Our history champions change-makers and everyday rebels; revelling in our differences, battling discrimination, championing equality, and doing things our own way. Haringey’s people are a huge asset, with knowledge, expertise, and passion. Our staff members embody our organisational values: Caring, Creative, Courageous, Collaborative and Community-focused. These values keep us looking forward, ambitious for the future, and continuously striving to do our very best for all of our residents.
About the Role
Haringey Council’s Housing Delivery team is leading on the delivery of one of the Council’s top priority programmes. Our programme covers a broad range of housing schemes, from small infill sites to large, complex development projects.
With work underway or completed on over 2,000 homes and a pipeline of new schemes to progress we are looking for someone to deliver our aftercare service: this is a relative new service that manages and oversees the new homes following their completion. This will be a valuable role in an expanding team, connecting our residents to our contractors when issues and defects arise in our new homes.
This is an exciting role within an ambitious and supportive team who are focused on delivering and managing the first council homes for a generation and providing our residents with real choice and opportunity.
About the Team
Our housing delivery team is award-winning, delivering new homes across the borough. The aftercare service has a specific role in managing our new build homes, as well as delivering important voids works to recently acquired properties. Together, we play a vital role in supporting the company’s operations and achieving its goals ensuring that the lived experience of our Tenants is best in class.
About You
We are looking for someone with an understanding of newly built homes and the repairs and defects that can arise, as well as being able to provide coordination between residents, contractors and wider stakeholders to action tasks appropriately. Strong project management skills are also required, as the successful candidate will be responsible for managing databases and record keeping related to the management of our new homes.
Ideally with a background in housing, you will be able to deal with the challenge of a reactive service supporting our residents in their new homes. We need a strong communicator who can work effectively and manage a varied caseload. You will be a self-starter who works well on own initiative and as part of a team, as you will be expected work collaboratively with other departments and with our contractors.
We are a high-achieving team that is committed to supporting one another in delivering successful projects, with ambitious targets to meet to support the delivery of affordable homes for the residents of Haringey.
Working for Haringey
At Haringey Council we are committed to creating a workplace culture where all our people feel valued, included, and able to be their best at work, and we recognise the benefits of a diverse workforce so welcome applications from all ethnicities and communities so that we continue to make a difference to our residents and community.
Our benefits package includes a leave entitlement up to 31 days + bank holidays, potential hybrid working opportunities, health and well-being support, a generous local government pension scheme and a range of discount schemes across leisure and culture that provide both financial and money-saving discounts.
