About Haringey
Haringey is a fantastic place to live and work – the world in one borough. A place brimming with creativity, personality, radicalism, and community. It is a place where we stand up for each other. A place that is proudly distinctive. We’ll be celebrating all this and more as the “rebel borough” when we are the 2027 London Borough of Culture.
Our history champions change-makers and everyday rebels; revelling in our differences, battling discrimination, championing equality, and doing things our own way. Haringey’s people are a huge asset, with knowledge, expertise, and passion. Our staff members embody our organisational values: Caring, Creative, Courageous, Collaborative and Community-focused. These values keep us looking forward, ambitious for the future, and continuously striving to do our very best for all of our residents.
About the role
This is an exciting opportunity to be part of the delivery of Haringey Council’s property acquisitions programme, helping to secure much-needed housing across the borough. As Acquisitions Manager, you’ll be at the forefront of identifying market opportunities, negotiating property purchases, and managing the statutory right of first refusal process. You’ll work closely with internal teams and external stakeholders to ensure acquisitions are financially viable, strategically aligned, and delivered to a high standard. If you’re passionate about housing, skilled in negotiation, and ready to make a tangible impact in the community, we’d love to hear from you.
You’ll be joining the Business Development team within the Finance and Resources directorate — a dynamic, forward-thinking group focused on expanding housing supply and improving outcomes for residents. Reporting to the Head of Business Development, you’ll work with a team of Acquisitions Managers and collaborate with colleagues across legal, finance, property, and housing services. The team values innovation, collaboration, and a proactive approach to tackling housing challenges in Haringey.
About you
We’re looking for a confident and experienced property professional with a strong track record in acquisitions, particularly in the open market. You’ll bring excellent knowledge of the housing market in North London, including experience of block and/or portfolio acquisitions. Your negotiation skills will be second to none, and you’ll be comfortable managing complex projects and stakeholder relationships. Ideally, you’ll have a relevant property or RICS qualification, and experience in market analysis, project management, and statutory right of first refusal processes. Strong communication skills and a strategic mindset are essential.
