About the role

The Streetspace Engineer, will take a role in developing, reviewing, designing, consulting, and delivering a range of schemes to promote walking, cycling and bus priority and reduce congestion and improve road safety.  The schemes will include School Streets, strategic cycle routes, traffic signal works, bus lanes and measures to reduce traffic congestion and improve road safety.
The Streetspace team includes 2 permanent and 3 fixed term contract (FTC) vacancies that will work on a range of schemes to promote walking, cycling and bus priority and reduce congestion and improve road safety.

About you

An understanding of the principal responsibilities of, and the key issues facing, local government and the public sector in respect of highway, traffic and transport design and management. A working knowledge and understanding of highways, traffic and transport related legislation, statutory duties and practice. You will also have a relevant professional qualification or suitable experience including at least 2 years relevant experience.
