About Haringey

Haringey is a fantastic place to live and work – the world in one borough. A place brimming with creativity, personality, radicalism, and community. It is a place where we stand up for each other. A place that is proudly distinctive. We’ll be celebrating all this and more as the “rebel borough” when we are the 2027 London Borough of Culture.
Our history champions change-makers and everyday rebels; revelling in our differences, battling discrimination, championing equality, and doing things our own way. Haringey’s people are a huge asset, with knowledge, expertise, and passion. Our staff members embody our organisational values: Caring, Creative, Courageous, Collaborative and Community-focused. These values keep us looking forward, ambitious for the future, and continuously striving to do our very best for all of our residents.

About the role

Are you an experienced Business Relationship Manager looking to advance your career? We’re seeking a dedicated individual to join our innovative team within the Digital and Change Directorate. In this vital role, you will be responsible for gaining a comprehensive understanding across either the Corporate or People & Place Directorates, ensuring you can provide well-informed advice and guidance to stakeholders at all levels. You will manage defined stakeholder groups, proactively identifying business needs, assisting in the creation of business cases, and ensuring the organisation understands the necessary steps to adopt and implement new digitally enabled processes. Additionally, you will actively contribute to Council-wide and directorate initiatives aimed at achieving and implementing the Council’s corporate objectives and meeting the needs of Haringey’s citizens and businesses.

About the team

Join our dynamic Digital and Change Business Unit within the Culture, Strategy and Engagement Directorate. Our team is dedicated to driving digital transformation and delivering high-quality user experiences across the Council. We work collaboratively with suppliers, partners, and stakeholders to ensure seamless digital services. You will report to the Enterprise Architect and play a vital role in maintaining and enhancing our digital infrastructure. Our team values innovation, collaboration, and a commitment to excellence. Together, we strive to create a resilient, secure, and efficient digital environment that supports the Council’s mission and goals.

About you

We are looking for a highly skilled and experienced Business Relationship Manager with a strong background in managing digital services and stakeholder relationships. You should have a degree or equivalent vocational qualification or relevant professional qualification, along with in-depth technical expertise in a variety of environments. Additionally, you should possess a demonstrated understanding of digital solutions, tools, and technologies, as well as expertise in presenting complex information, developing business cases, and leading effective meetings.
Proficiency in business and digital environment analysis, stakeholder analysis, and consultancy principles is essential. Strong communication skills to effectively translate complex matters to non-IT audiences are required. You should also have a proactive approach to identifying and addressing emerging technology issues, security trends, vulnerabilities, and threats. Experience in creating and maintaining technical documentation and leading complex upgrades or changes requiring out-of-hours availability, is also necessary.

Additionally, at PO8 level, you will negotiate at a senior level on technical and commercial issues, influence the development and enhancement of services, products, and systems, and oversee the monitoring of relationships, acting on relevant feedback.
