About the role

We are looking for an experienced Building Safety Manager to help ensure the safety and compliance of our residential buildings, with a particular focus on Higher-Risk Buildings (HRBs). You will lead on building safety activities across the housing portfolio, overseeing fire and structural safety, driving compliance, and supporting the development of a positive safety culture.

Working closely with colleagues, contractors, residents and regulators, you will manage building safety programmes, support resident engagement, monitor compliance performance and provide expert advice on legislative and regulatory requirements.

Working alongside experienced safety, compliance and property professionals, you will contribute to a collaborative and forward-thinking service that is committed to continuous improvement and resident-focused outcomes.

This is an exciting opportunity to join a team that works closely with residents, senior leaders, external partners and regulators to deliver meaningful improvements across a diverse housing portfolio.

About you

You will be an experienced building safety, compliance, housing or property professional with a strong understanding of building safety legislation, fire safety compliance and regulatory requirements. You will have experience managing risk within complex residential environments, conducting audits and inspections, and overseeing contractors and consultants to ensure high standards of compliance and safety. With excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, you will be confident engaging with residents, colleagues, regulators and external partners. You will also bring strong problem-solving abilities, a commitment to delivering excellent customer service, and experience working within housing, local government, property management, facilities management or a similar environment. A relevant professional qualification, equivalent experience, or evidence of continuing professional development is essential, along with a willingness to continue developing your expertise in building safety management.
