Job description

Position: Assistant Sports Coach

Salary: : Scale 3

Hours of work: Part Time 24.5 hours per week Mon 3:30-4:30; Tues-Thurs 8:30-4:30 including a 30-minute lunch duty; Fri 3:30-4:30 Term Time Only

Contract Term: Fixed term contract to August 2025 with possibility of extension

Closing Date: Monday 24th Feb 2025 (9:00am)

Interviews:  Monday 3rd March 2025

Start Date: 22nd April 2025 or sooner

We are currently hiring a dynamic Assistant Sports Coach specialising in Physical Education, who can help our established PE inspire our team and has a passion for child-centred learning. The ideal candidate should have experience in primary schools and be committed to creating an engaging learning atmosphere that nurtures growth and development. We are looking for an enthusiastic and committed individual to join our successful team.  Under the guidance of the Schools Sports Coach, you will need to be: 

  •   Passionate about developing a positive ethos of inclusion whilst promoting a programme of sporting opportunities both within and beyond the school
  •  Confident in planning and delivering challenging learning activities focused on physical education
  •   Able to provide appropriate mentoring, support, guidance and advice to teachers, sports leaders and volunteers working within our school, including extra-curricular activities

You will have: 

  •       Experience of working with children in a school setting
  •       A proven track record of successful teaching and engagement with children across the primary age range
  •       Experience of teaching several disciplines and sports supported by relevant qualifications
