About the role
We are seeking a dedicated and motivated Social Work Officer to join our Mental Health Team. This is an exciting opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of adults living with mental health conditions. The successful candidate will play a key role in delivering high-quality social care interventions in line with statutory duties and local authority functions.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out Care Act Assessments and Reviews for adults with mental health needs.
- Manage a caseload effectively, ensuring timely and appropriate interventions.
- Work as part of a supportive team, attending team meetings and contributing to collaborative decision-making.
- Represent social care within a multi-professional setting, working closely with clinical teams and attending relevant professional meetings.
- Undertake welfare checks, home visits, and other duties aligned with local authority responsibilities.
- Work flexibly to meet the needs of adults requiring social care support.
- Complete written assessments to a high standard, demonstrating strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ensure compliance with statutory timeframes and guidelines.
- Manage competing demands effectively and maintain accurate records.
About you
- Strong understanding of the Care Act 2014 and its application in mental health settings.
- Ability to work collaboratively with professionals across health and social care.
- Excellent organisational skills and the ability to manage a varied caseload.
- Skilled in critical thinking, problem-solving, and maintaining professional boundaries.
- Commitment to promoting independence, wellbeing, and safeguarding adults.
