About the role
The London Borough Haringey is seeking a motivated and forward-thinking Procurement Officer to join our Strategic Procurement team. This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in delivering value for money, driving innovation, and supporting sustainable practices through compliant procurement processes.
As part of the Supplies and Services team, you will manage procurement activity across a diverse range of categories, including HR, Facilities Management, Legal, Finance, Digital, and Environmental Services. You will ensure that contracts and collaborations deliver added value, support the local economy, and align with the Council’s priorities.
The role requires you to:
- Lead and manage medium to high-value or complex procurements in line with Public Contracts Regulations 2015, the Procurement Act 2023, and Council policies.
- Develop sourcing strategies and deliver robust, competitive procurement processes that achieve best value.
- Provide expert advice on procurement regulations, contract development, and governance.
- Support stakeholders in supplier relationship and contract management, ensuring performance standards and social value commitments are met.
- Contribute to category strategies and innovative procurement approaches.
About you
- You will have a strong background in procurement and experience in public sector regulations.
- You can manage multiple projects at pace and with minimal supervision.
- Is an excellent communicator with strong stakeholder engagement skills.
- Be able to demonstrates proactive problem-solving and persuasive negotiation abilities.
- Degree-level qualification or equivalent experience.
- Professional membership of CIPS (or working towards).
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience delivering public sector procurement tenders.
- You will have strong knowledge of contract law and procurement best practice.
- Proficiency in IT systems and intermediate Excel skills.
