About the Role

In this dynamic role, you will have overall responsibility for all Home to School transport functions within Haringey. As the Transport Manager, you will be at the heart of our operation, ensuring that children have safe, reliable, and efficient transportation to and from their educational institutions. Your expertise and leadership will be vital in maintaining a smooth and effective transport system that supports our community’s needs. About the Team

As Transport Manager, you will manage a team of professionals, including a Transport Operations Manager, Passenger Attendant Manager, Independent Travel Trainer, and have overall responsibility for 95 passenger attendants. You will also manage a team of 3 members focused on eligibility, suitability of travel arrangements, and finance to deliver safe school travel services to some of the most vulnerable children in the Borough.

About You

We are seeking a highly experienced candidate with a strong background in managing transport services for children with SEND. The successful candidate will:

•    Have a proven track record as a strategic leader within the public sector, with direct experience leading commissioning services for children and families.
•    Be able to influence people and build on the culture of improvement already imbedded in the team.
•    Identify and implement strategies that will deliver operational efficiencies and reduce costs.
•    Maintain high-quality service delivery, ensuring that standards are met and maintained.
•    Be committed to building strong partnerships with diverse stakeholders, including schools, transport providers, children, young people, and families.
•    Possess sound commercial acumen, making decisions based on facts.
•    Manage demand by applying Haringey’s policies and make key decisions that are grounded in their knowledge of statutory legislation and national policy regarding home to school transport.
