Position: Primary Teacher of Deaf Children and Young People – Maternity Cover
Salary: MPS/UPS + Inner London Allowance + 1 SEN point
Hours of work: Full Time
Contract Term: Fixed Term- Initially 2 Terms with the possibility of 3 terms

We are an exciting, innovative and successful provision for deaf children aged 3 – 16. The Primary school is co-located with Highgate Primary School and the Secondary school is co-located with Fortismere School, Muswell Hill. We offer the best of both worlds through quality inclusion and small class specialist teaching. We are looking for an excellent KS2 teacher to join our skilled team of deaf and hearing staff with a commitment to a child centred, sign bilingual approach.

We are looking for an excellent KS2 Teacher to join our skilled team of deaf and hearing staff.

The successful candidate will:
● Have experience of teaching in Primary- KS1 or KS2
● Promote effective inclusive education for deaf pupils
● Have high expectations and excellent planning and adaptive skills
● Have knowledge of British Sign Language or a commitment to work towards a minimum BSL Level 3
● Have excellent communication and interpersonal skills
● Be flexible with a commitment to work in partnership with a mainstream team
A Teacher of Deaf Children and Young People (ToD) qualification is desirable but not essential as this is a maternity cover post. Additional support and training will be given as required.
