About the Role
This is an opportunity for an experienced Occupational Therapist ready to step confidently into advanced practice, combining hands on specialist work with leadership responsibilities. As an Advanced Practitioner, you will manage a small caseload of complex children’s and adult cases across Adult Social Care, carrying out comprehensive assessments, recommending interventions, and ensuring high quality, person centred outcomes for residents. You’ll act as a clinical expert in your field, using sound professional judgement to support effective decision making and robust risk management.
Alongside your clinical responsibilities, you will play a key role in the operational running of the service. You’ll support the Team Manager in leading and motivating a multi disciplinary workforce, deputising where required, and driving high standards of performance, service improvement, data integrity, and you will have be expected to manage projects. This role is ideal for a practitioner seeking to grow into management while remaining closely connected to frontline practice.
About the Team
You will join a supportive, multi disciplinary Adult Social Care team consisting of Occupational Therapists, sensory impairment practitioners, equipment specialists, and wider health and social care partners. The team works collaboratively to maximise independence, deliver integrated care, and ensure a consistently high-quality service for residents.
About You
You will be a determined and motivated Advanced Practitioner Occupational Therapist with strong clinical expertise and the confidence to lead by example. You’ll bring substantial post qualification experience, including delivering complex assessments and interventions within varied settings, combined with a deep understanding of legislation, safeguarding principles, risk management, managing project and service improvement knowledge and skills. Skilled at remaining calm under pressure, you will manage a complex caseload while providing clear professional guidance to others though weekly huddles and facilitating team meetings.
As a natural leader, you will be able to nurture a high performing team, offering coaching, supervision, and constructive challenge where needed. You will be confident using performance data, driving service improvements, and promoting a strengths based, customer focused approach across all areas of practice. HCPC registration and excellent communication, organisational, and IT skills are essential, along with a commitment to Haringey’s values and a passion for improving outcomes for adults, families, and carers.
