About the role

Are you a compassionate and dedicated professional seeking a meaningful role in transforming the lives of individuals facing homelessness? Haringey Council is looking for a Housing First Coordinator to lead our dynamic Housing First team. In this role, you will be at the forefront of delivering the Haringey Housing First service. Responsibilities include managing day-to-day operations, providing crucial line management support, and offering intensive, trauma-informed assistance to individuals with complex needs. Your duties encompass leading and managing the Haringey Housing First service, ensuring the team delivers high-quality support. You will swiftly process referrals and allocate resources to commence services promptly. Additionally, you will carry a caseload, providing wrap-around intensive support within independent tenancies. Your role involves advising staff and clients on move-on options, health, welfare benefits, and other essential matters. Staying updated on housing legislation, welfare benefit rules, and relevant issues is crucial. You will foster communication and collaboration with internal and external stakeholders, maintaining accurate records and providing data and reports showcasing service outcomes.

About you

In terms of qualifications and experience, we are seeking someone with effective communication and negotiation skills with diverse stakeholders. A deep understanding of homelessness issues and a proven track record of positive outcomes are essential. Experience in assessing individual needs, risk assessments, and adherence to Housing First principles is highly valued. Knowledge of relevant legislation, including the Housing Act 1996, Mental Health Act 1983, and Care Act 2014, is required.
