About the Role
We are seeking a dynamic training lead who excels in proactive and understands the training needs of a modern housing repairs workforce. In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring that all operatives and trained to a high standard and compliant with all legislative and regulatory frameworks. You will have an excellent understanding of the apprentice levy and be able to use business acumen to achieve the best outcome for the Council and repairs team. You will be able to plan training delivery around operational requirements and respond to changing priorities within the service. A proficient understanding of different training delivery tools and the ability to work with stakeholders with different needs and abilities will be an important part of the role.

About You
We’re looking for an enthusiastic and positive individual to join our team, dedicated to delivering exceptional housing repair services across Haringey. You’ll have a proven background and understanding of Learning & Development structures, delivery, and frameworks. We’re seeking a leader with a track record in training management and implementation, including experience with apprenticeships, ideally within housing and building repairs. You should possess demonstrable project management skills, including planning, prioritising, and driving improvements to achieve objectives within set timescales. Your ability to develop online guides and materials is essential, as is your understanding of how procurement and planning can enhance learning outcomes.
You’ll be someone who thrives on managing people and building effective teams, knowing how to empower individuals to succeed. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are a must, enabling you to engage and influence a diverse range of stakeholders, from directors to work experience trainees. You’ll be adept at creating and implementing delivery plans, assessing and actioning improvements, and building strong relationships with colleagues. While not essential, experience in responsive repairs, various development methodologies (coaching, action learning, mentoring), face-to-face and remote delivery, interpreting data for management reports, and general management/supervisory experience would be a significant advantage.
