About Haringey

Haringey is a fantastic place to live and work – the world in one borough. A place brimming with creativity, personality, radicalism, and community. It is a place where we stand up for each other. A place that is proudly distinctive. We’ll be celebrating all this and more as the “rebel borough” when we are the 2027 London Borough of Culture.

Our history champions change-makers and everyday rebels; revelling in our differences, battling discrimination, championing equality, and doing things our own way. Haringey’s people are a huge asset, with knowledge, expertise, and passion. Our staff members embody our organisational values: Caring, Creative, Courageous, Collaborative and Community-focused. These values keep us looking forward, ambitious for the future, and continuously striving to do or very best for all of our residents.

About the Role

As an Education, Health and Care (EHC) Coordinator, you will play a key role in improving the lives of children and young people with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND). You will coordinate the statutory EHC needs assessment process and manage high‑quality, legally compliant EHC Plans from 0–25, ensuring that provision is identified, agreed, and delivered in a timely, person‑centred way.

You will work closely with families, schools, health professionals, and partner agencies to gather and interpret specialist advice, identify needs, and develop meaningful outcomes that prepare children and young people for adulthood.  This is a varied role that requires excellent written skills, negotiation, and the ability to work compassionately but decisively within statutory timeframes. You will lead on drafting plans, participating in multi‑agency meetings, resolving areas of disagreement, maintaining accurate records, and ensuring panel decisions are actioned promptly.

You will be trusted to manage your own caseload, work independently, and contribute to the continued high standards of a service recognised for its positive outcomes and strong SEND practice. Your role will involve meetings in educational settings and online.

About the Team

You will be joining a high performing SEND Service with the highest OFSTED rating, known for its strong values, high quality practice, and commitment to achieving the best possible outcomes for children and young people with SEND.

Our service brings together experienced and passionate professionals – including EHC Coordinators, Specialist Teachers, Educational Psychologists, and multi agency partners – who work in a culture grounded in collaboration, learning, and mutual support.

About You

You are someone who is motivated by making a meaningful difference in the lives of children and young people with SEND. You bring professionalism, empathy, and resilience, along with the confidence to work with a wide range of stakeholders and manage complex, sensitive information.
You will thrive in this role if you:
•    Have experience working with children, young people, or families — ideally within education, SEND, health or social care
•    Can interpret specialist reports and translate them into clear, outcome focused EHC Plans
•    Have excellent written communication skills and strong attention to detail
•    Can balance competing deadlines and manage a busy caseload
•    Are able to negotiate, resolve differences, and work constructively in challenging situations
•    Enjoy working both independently and as part of a collaborative team
•    Are committed to inclusion, equality, and achieving positive outcomes for children and young people
