About Haringey
Haringey is a fantastic place to live and work – the world in one borough. A place brimming with creativity, personality, radicalism, and community. It is a place where we stand up for each other. A place that is proudly distinctive. We’ll be celebrating all this and more as the “rebel borough” when we are the 2027 London Borough of Culture. Our history champions change-makers and everyday rebels; revelling in our differences, battling discrimination, championing equality, and doing things our own way. Haringey’s people are a huge asset, with knowledge, expertise, and passion. Our staff members embody our organisational values: Caring, Creative, Courageous, Collaborative and Community-focused. These values keep us looking forward, ambitious for the future, and continuously striving to do our very best for all of our residents.
About the Role
Are you passionate about using technology to empower people to live more independently? As a Digital Care Technology Assessor, you’ll play a vital role in shaping how assistive technology supports adults across our community. You’ll work directly with residents, carers, and professionals to assess needs and recommend personalised digital solutions that promote safety, wellbeing, and independence.
This is a hands-on, people-focused role where you’ll combine technical knowledge with empathy and creativity. You’ll be part of a collaborative team that’s driving innovation in adult social care, working closely with health and social care partners to deliver integrated, future-ready services.
If you’re someone who thrives on making a difference, enjoys problem-solving, and is excited by the potential of digital care, we’d love to hear from you.
About the Team
At Haringey, we are committed to ensuring that all adults can live healthy, fulfilling lives with dignity—remaining active, independent, and connected within their communities. As part of this commitment, we are embracing the power of Assistive Technology to offer smarter, more personalised support that adapts to people’s changing needs.
Our Connected Care Service is a vital 24/7 community alarm and response service that provides reassurance and rapid support to residents across Haringey. Whether responding to emergencies or offering daily peace of mind, the service plays a crucial role in helping people remain safe and supported in their own homes.
At the heart of this service are our Digital Care Technology Assessors. These skilled professionals work directly with residents, families, and care teams to assess individual needs and recommend tailored digital solutions that promote independence and wellbeing. From wearable alarms to smart home sensors, our assessors ensure that technology is used meaningfully and effectively to enhance quality of life.
Together, we’re building a more connected, inclusive, and forward-thinking approach to adult social care—one that puts people first and embraces the possibilities of digital innovation.
About You
We are seeking a knowledgeable and forward-thinking professional with substantial expertise in Assistive Technology assessment and provision within health and social care. The ideal candidate will bring contemporary understanding of the relevant statutory frameworks, including legal and clinical guidance, along with up-to-date knowledge of standalone and integrated technology solutions. A strong grasp of technical infrastructure and platforms supporting Assistive Technology is essential, along with practical experience in assessing individual needs across care settings and identifying tailored solutions that promote independence and improved outcomes.
The successful candidate will demonstrate a proactive and innovative mindset, with sound problem-solving abilities and a clear understanding of risk assessment principles. Strong communication and presentation skills are required to convey complex information in clear formats to individuals and groups. We’re looking for someone who thrives in collaborative environments, prioritises effectively, and makes the best use of available resources. Competence in using digital tools such as PowerPoint, Excel, and Word, combined with continuous personal development and service co-design experience alongside service users and carers, will ensure success in this role.
