About Haringey

Haringey is a fantastic place to live and work – the world in one borough. A place brimming with creativity, personality, radicalism, and community. It is a place where we stand up for each other. A place that is proudly distinctive. We’ll be celebrating all this and more as the “rebel borough” when we are the 2027 London Borough of Culture. Our history champions change-makers and everyday rebels; revelling in our differences, battling discrimination, championing equality, and doing things our own way. Haringey’s people are a huge asset, with knowledge, expertise, and passion. Our staff members embody our organisational values: Caring, Creative, Courageous, Collaborative and Community-focused. These values keep us looking forward, ambitious for the future, and continuously striving to do our very best for all of our residents.

About the Role

As a Commercial Officer within Haringey Repairs Service, you will play a pivotal role in supporting the delivery of a high-performing, customer focused repairs and maintenance service. This role is responsible for ensuring commercial oversight across contracts, procurement, and financial performance. You will work closely with operational teams to monitor budgets, analyse cost data, and support the development of commercial strategies that drive value for money and service improvement. Your work will contribute directly to the effective management of resources and the achievement of service objectives, ensuring compliance with council policies and relevant legislation.

About the Team

Haringey Repairs Service is a dynamic and forward-thinking team committed to delivering high-quality repairs and maintenance services to residents across the borough. We pride ourselves on being responsive, inclusive, and customer-focused, with a strong emphasis on continuous improvement and collaboration. The team works in a fast-paced environment where innovation and accountability are key. You’ll be joining a supportive group of professionals who are passionate about making a tangible difference in the community, and who value integrity, teamwork, and excellence in service delivery.

About You

We’re looking for a commercially astute individual with a strong background in contract management, procurement, or financial analysis—ideally within a public sector or housing repairs environment.
Experience: Demonstrable experience in commercial or financial roles, with a track record of supporting service delivery and performance improvement.
Skills: Strong analytical and numerical skills.
Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement abilities.
Proficiency in interpreting data.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced setting.
Knowledge of public sector procurement and contract management frameworks is desirable.
You’ll be proactive, detail-oriented, and committed to delivering high standards of work that support the wider goals of the Repairs Service.
