About the Role

We are looking for a knowledgeable and technically skilled Assistant Planning Officer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a background in planning, will be able to work effectively within a team and will buy into Haringey Council’s core values.  Additionally, you will have the pleasure of working with the new cloud-based tool Arcus (Salesforce product) to assist in maintaining our planning database so a technically competent operator is a must.

Key Responsibilities:

•    Assist with planning validation processes.
•    Set up pre-application meetings and documentation.
•    Support planning officers with various tasks and projects.
•    Conduct research and analysis to aid planning decisions.
•    Utilize mapping and GIS tools to support planning activities.
•    Maintain accurate records and documentation.

About the Team

The Haringey Planning Innovation & Income Team sits in the Planning & Building Standards service. A friendly, hardworking, and community focused team working across the borough. The team will be made up of 5 officers, focusing on supporting planning officers with various tasks and projects.

About You

• Good knowledge of Haringey Council’s values and operations.
• Strong technical ability in planning and related fields.
• Excellent teamwork and communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
• Understanding of mapping and GIS tools is highly desirable.
• Relevant qualifications or experience in planning or a related discipline.
