The Haringey Learning Partnership was created in September 2020. In order to streamline services available to students with the Borough of Haringey, a number of services were brought in under the umbrella organisation of the Haringey Learning Partnership.
Our students come to us at various points during their secondary schooling – usually as a result of their previous school placement having broken down, whether through ill-health, behaviour issues or other difficulties – frequently feeling less than positive about themselves and their life chances. Our job is to help get them back on track, either through a return to regular schooling or by completing Year 11 with us, so that they emerge prepared to make a positive contribution wherever they go next.
We are currently recruiting for an ambitious Chef to help us create exceptional food experiences for our students. As a Chef, you will be responsible for preparing and serving the kind of food that students and employees will truly love to eat.
Are you:
- Passionate about creating delicious, nutritious meals for children and employees?
- Hold a HACCP Certificate in food safety hygiene or equivalent
- Have experience supervising a team
- Have experience in a similar Chef role
- Hold a Food Hygiene certificate
- Have a flexible approach to working and good customer care

Main Duties and Responsibilities include (but are not limited to):
- Preparing delicious, high-quality food that delights our students and employees
- Overseeing and implementing nutritious menu changes
- Listening and acting on children and parent’s feedback to consistently improve the food services
- Ensure food safety and hygiene standards
- Collaborate with staff to accommodate dietary needs
- Foster a positive dining experience for students
- Managing a kitchen assistant
- Ordering stock in line with requirements, managing your account and budget control.
- Overseeing kitchen cleaning responsibilities to maintain hygiene standards
- Complying with Food Handling, Hygiene and Health and Safety regulations
- Induction of new staff in health & safety training & correct cooking methods
- Preparing light snacks for breakfast club and break-time
- Supervision of setting up and cleaning the dining area before and after meals
- To promote and safeguard the welfare of children and young persons for whom you are responsible and with whom you come into contact with during the course of your duties and responsibilities. Your conduct must at all times be in accordance with the school’s policies and procedures
- To report any causes for concern relating to the welfare and safety of children to the designated person, and the head teacher, or if unavailable the designated safeguarding governor or a member of the senior leadership team
- To attend safeguarding training as required by the school and maintain your knowledge and understanding of your responsibility for safeguarding children in this school
