About the Role
To support the Financial Assessment Manager in leading and developing the Financial Assessment team to achieve objectives, maintain financial controls, and uphold high service standards. Collaborate with other departments to enhance business processes continuously and write or review procedures to ensure compliance with best practices and adaptability to changes.
Conduct financial assessments and annual reviews in accordance with relevant legislation and procedures, ensuring accurate charging for social care services. Provide comprehensive advisory support to clients and providers on financial assessments, including the resolution of complaints, appeals, and complex cases.
Maximise local authority income by managing Deferred Payment Agreements for chargeable social care services in line with the Council’s policy and offering guidance on welfare benefit claims. Take an active role in service improvement, policy development, and research, while also deputising for the Financial Assessment Manager as needed.
About You
This accomplished candidate brings extensive experience as a senior-level Financial Assessment Officer, with a deep understanding of adult social care legislation including the Care Act 2004 and Mental Capacity Act 2005. They are adept at working with financial systems such as ContrOCC and Liquidlogic, and have successfully managed complex queries with professionalism and clarity. Their role often includes preparing detailed reports for senior management and multi-agency partnerships, while supporting vulnerable adults through effective, outcome-focused financial administration.
In addition to their core responsibilities, the candidate has deputised for the Team Manager, demonstrating strong leadership and a strategic approach to service delivery. They consistently motivate staff, streamline administrative procedures, and support organisational change initiatives. With proven ability to manage competing priorities and facilitate stakeholder collaboration, they are a highly capable and reliable professional committed to delivering excellence across health, social care, and financial support services.
