About the role
We are looking for motivated and vigilant Recreation Assistants to join our Wet Side team. The role is primarily focused on lifeguarding and supervising pool activities, ensuring the safety and wellbeing of all customers using our aquatic facilities. You will provide a visible presence around the pool, respond to incidents, administer first aid where required, carry out safety checks, and promote safe and hygienic use of the facilities. You will also support with setting up equipment, maintaining high standards of cleanliness, and delivering excellent customer service throughout the centre
About the team
Our Leisure team is committed to creating safe, inclusive and enjoyable environments where residents can improve their health, wellbeing and confidence through physical activity. As part of the Wet Side team, you will work closely with Duty Managers, Supervisors and fellow lifeguards to ensure our pools operate safely and efficiently. We pride ourselves on delivering excellent customer experiences, supporting one another, and maintaining the highest standards of safety across our leisure facilities.
About you
You will be a confident and approachable individual with a strong commitment to customer safety and service. You will have a recognised pool lifeguard qualification, excellent communication skills, and the ability to remain calm under pressure when responding to emergencies. You will enjoy working as part of a team, be proactive in identifying potential risks, and take pride in maintaining a clean and safe environment for all users. Flexibility is essential, as the role involves working shifts, including evenings, weekends and bank holidays
