About Haringey

Haringey is a fantastic place to live and work – the world in one borough. A place brimming with creativity, personality, radicalism, and community. It is a place where we stand up for each other. A place that is proudly distinctive. We’ll be celebrating all this and more as the “rebel borough” when we are the 2027 London Borough of Culture.

Our history champions change-makers and everyday rebels; revelling in our differences, battling discrimination, championing equality, and doing things our own way. Haringey’s people are a huge asset, with knowledge, expertise, and passion. Our staff members embody our organisational values: Caring, Creative, Courageous, Collaborative and Community-focused. These values keep us looking forward, ambitious for the future, and continuously striving to do our very best for all of our residents.

About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Performance and Data Analyst to produce high quality analytical insight that underpins the commissioning of projects and programmes across Children’s Services.

You will be responsible for analysing large and complex datasets and producing insightful narrative to support service needs assessments, gap analysis, progress reporting and future planning. The role will require you to work closely with a wide range of stakeholders to ensure that performance monitoring arrangements meet business needs and support effective commissioning decisions.

As well as strong technical data skills, you will be able to translate data into meaningful insight through clear visualisations and compelling written narrative. You will play a key role in bringing data to life, telling the story behind the numbers and shaping evidence based planning and service improvement. Strong written English language skills are therefore essential for this role.

Key Responsibilities:
•    Monitor, analyse, and report on all Children’s Strategic Commissioning performance indicators
•    Produce and maintain datasets to support service design, impact assessment, statutory requirements, and commissioning activity
•    Undertake statistical analysis and modelling, including trend analysis and projections, to inform needs assessments, policy development, commissioning, and service planning
•    Collect, quality assure, and disseminate data as required by the service
•    Monitor the performance of all strategically commissioned children’s services, ensuring the accurate and timely submission of contractual and statutory statistical returns
•    Write clear, concise, and evidence based briefings and reports relating to service delivery and performance
•    Provide high quality performance information and needs analysis to support managers and partners in strategic planning and commissioning decisions
•    Analyse numerical data, draw robust conclusions, and present findings to a range of audiences, including service managers and regulatory inspection teams
•    Support the administration and development of databases and performance systems within the Children’s Strategic Commissioning portfolio

About the Team

You will report to the Performance Data Manager within the Commissioning and Programmes team in Children’s Services. The team drives strategic thinking, collaborative working, and performance management across all commissioning activity.

Operating with a “One Children’s Commissioning” approach, the team works closely with external partners to deliver high-quality, evidence-based services that provide best value. We are committed to cultural change and continuous improvement, ensuring our commissioning plans align with corporate priorities while regularly reviewing provision to identify opportunities for innovation. Above all, the team is dedicated to achieving positive outcomes for children and families in Haringey, with all decisions and activities firmly rooted in needs-led, evidence-based practice

About You

The ideal candidate will be analytical, detail driven, and passionate about using data to improve outcomes for children and families.

You will have:
•    Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present complex information clearly and accessibly
•    Proficiency in data analysis tools and systems – including Power BI and Excel
•    Excellent analytical and quantitative skills, with the ability to interpret data and generate meaningful insights
•    Experience creating data visualisations and written analytical narrative to support decision making
•    A high level of attention to detail and accuracy
•    The ability to work collaboratively and build effective working relationships with a range of internal and external stakeholders
•    Good organisational and time management skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities
•    Knowledge of legislation and government guidance relating to children’s services
•    An understanding of data protection, GDPR, and information governance requirements

Requirements
•    A qualification in a relevant field (e.g. statistics, data analytics, performance analysis, data management, or a related discipline), or equivalent experience
•    Experience of working within local government or a complex multi functional organisation
