About Haringey
Haringey is a fantastic place to live and work – the world in one borough. A place brimming with creativity, personality, radicalism, and community. It is a place where we stand up for each other. A place that is proudly distinctive. We’ll be celebrating all this and more as the “rebel borough” when we are the 2027 London Borough of Culture.
Our history champions change-makers and everyday rebels; revelling in our differences, battling discrimination, championing equality, and doing things our own way. Haringey’s people are a huge asset, with knowledge, expertise, and passion. Our staff members embody our organisational values: Caring, Creative, Courageous, Collaborative and Community-focused. These values keep us looking forward, ambitious for the future, and continuously striving to do our very best for all of our residents.
About the Role
As a Payments Officer within the Children’s Services Commissioning Team, you’ll play a key role in ensuring that providers and clients are paid accurately and on time. Working closely with the Payments Team Manager, you will process invoices, scheduled payments and one off payments, carry out reconciliations, and maintain accurate financial records across systems such as SAP, Mosaic, Liquid Logic, ControCC and AllPay.
You’ll take ownership of complex financial transactions and queries, support the recovery of overpayments, and contribute to maintaining strong financial controls across the service. You’ll also run system reports, support year end processes, and provide advice to internal and external stakeholders regarding payment and finance-related issues. This is an opportunity to play an important role in ensuring high standards of financial administration that directly support children’s services across the borough.
About You
You will bring proven experience of working in a financial, administrative or data processing environment, with strong numeracy, accuracy and organisational skills. You are confident managing digital finance systems, maintaining records, and working to clear procedures and deadlines.
You’ll be someone who can prioritise a busy workload, adapt to changing demands, and remain calm under pressure. Strong communication skills are essential, as you’ll be liaising with colleagues, providers and other stakeholders with clarity and tact. You will be highly competent in using Excel and comfortable interrogating and inputting data across finance and case management systems such as SAP, Mosaic, Liquid Logic or similar
