About Haringey

Haringey is a fantastic place to live and work – the world in one borough. A place brimming with creativity, personality, radicalism, and community. It is a place where we stand up for each other. A place that is proudly distinctive. We’ll be celebrating all this and more as the “rebel borough” when we are the 2027 London Borough of Culture.

Our history champions change-makers and everyday rebels; revelling in our differences, battling discrimination, championing equality, and doing things our own way. Haringey’s people are a huge asset, with knowledge, expertise, and passion. Our staff members embody our organisational values: Caring, Creative, Courageous, Collaborative and Community-focused. These values keep us looking forward, ambitious for the future, and continuously striving to do our very best for all of our residents.

About the role

The Operational Team Manager at Ermine Community Hub plays a vital leadership role in delivering high-quality, person-centred services for adults with profound and multiple learning disabilities. Based at the Ermine Community Hub, you will be responsible for the day-to-day management of the service, leading and developing a dedicated team to ensure outstanding outcomes for the people we support. Working closely with colleagues, families, health professionals and partners, you will oversee staffing, operational planning, health and safety, building management and budget control, ensuring the service operates as a Centre of Excellence and provides a safe, engaging and supportive environment.

About the team

You will be part of the Adults, Housing & Health Directorate within Adult Social Care, leading the day-to-day operation of the Ermine Community Hub, a specialist service supporting adults with profound and multiple learning disabilities (PMLD). Working closely with the Senior Service Manager, Development Manager, Team Leaders, support staff and a range of internal and external partners, you will ensure the service delivers high-quality, person-centred support that promotes independence, wellbeing and positive outcomes. You will play a key role in maintaining a safe, compliant and welcoming environment, overseeing staff, resources, budgets, health and safety, and operational planning to ensure the hub operates as a centre of excellence for people with complex support needs.

About you

You will be a competent and experienced leader with a minimum of two years’ experience in a management role within a day service for adults with learning disabilities, and at least three years’ experience working directly with adults with Profound and Multiple Learning Disabilities. You will have a strong understanding of the operational, regulatory and person-centred requirements needed to deliver high-quality support services for people with complex needs.

You will have a proven track record of successfully managing teams of eight or more staff within a learning disability day service, demonstrating the ability to lead, motivate and develop staff while driving positive outcomes for people who use services. You will be skilled in managing change, embedding new ways of working and fostering a positive, inclusive culture focused on achieving the best possible outcomes for adults with learning disabilities.

You will be confident in overseeing day-to-day service operations, including staffing, performance management, health and safety, building management, safeguarding and service compliance. You will possess excellent organisational, planning and problem-solving skills, enabling you to manage competing priorities while ensuring the service remains safe, effective and responsive. Strong communication and relationship-building skills are essential, as you will work collaboratively with people using the service, their families, carers, health professionals, colleagues and partner organisations. You will be proactive, resilient and accountable, with a commitment to safeguarding, inclusion and continuous improvement. Above all, you will be passionate about supporting adults with complex needs and ensuring that the Ermine Community Hub delivers an outstanding experience for everyone who accesses the service.
