About Haringey

Haringey is a fantastic place to live and work – the world in one borough. A place brimming with creativity, personality, radicalism, and community. It is a place where we stand up for each other. A place that is proudly distinctive. We’ll be celebrating all this and more as the “rebel borough” when we are the 2027 London Borough of Culture.

Our history champions change-makers and everyday rebels; revelling in our differences, battling discrimination, championing equality, and doing things our own way. Haringey’s people are a huge asset, with knowledge, expertise, and passion. Our staff members embody our organisational values: Caring, Creative, Courageous, Collaborative and Community-focused. These values keep us looking forward, ambitious for the future, and continuously striving to do our very best for all of our residents.

About the role

As a Locality Coordinator, you will be a friendly and approachable first point of contact for families, young people, parents and carers accessing Early Help and Family Hub services. You will support individuals to access the right services at the right time, offering advice, guidance and practical support across a wide range of needs, including SEND. The role involves coordinating enquiries, linking families into services, supporting engagement activities and contributing to targeted projects that improve outcomes for children and families. You will also play a key role in developing “one stop shop” services and ensuring provision is accessible, responsive and tailored to local community needs.

About the team

You will join a collaborative and community‑focused Early Help, Prevention and SEND service within Children’s Services. Working as part of a locality‑based Family Hubs network, you will partner closely with internal teams, schools, health services, voluntary organisations and other stakeholders to deliver joined‑up support. The team is committed to early intervention, inclusion and empowering families, with a strong emphasis on partnership working and continuous improvement to meet the needs of diverse communities across the borough.

About you

You will be a proactive and compassionate individual with experience working with children, young people and families in a community or support setting. You will have excellent communication skills, with the ability to listen, build trust and provide clear advice and guidance. Organised and resilient, you are confident managing enquiries, working independently and engaging with a wide range of partners. You will also have a strong understanding of, or interest in, early help services, safeguarding and inclusion, and be motivated by making a positive difference to families and communities.
