Job description

Position: EYFS Afterschool Club Key Worker (Reception and Nursery) 

Salary: Scale 5 

Hours of work: Monday to Friday, 3:30 PM – 6:00 PM (12.5 hours/week, term-time only)

Contract Term: Fixed Term Contract ending July 2026,

Closing Date: Friday 10th October

Interviews: Monday 13th October

Start date : As soon as possible

We are looking for a caring, creative, and committed individual to join our afterschool team as the EYFS Afterschool Club Key Worker, supporting our youngest children in Reception and Nursery.

This is a unique opportunity to take a lead role in delivering high-quality wrap-around provision, ensuring a safe, stimulating, and nurturing environment for children at the end of their school day. The successful candidate will act as a designated key worker, supporting individual development and wellbeing, while building strong relationships with staff and families to ensure continuity of care.

You will be working in a play-based, child-led setting that aligns with the EYFS framework, and will be responsible for planning engaging activities, managing daily routines, and maintaining a warm and welcoming space.

Key Requirements: 

  • Experience of working with young children, including providing personal care
  • A commitment to high-quality care and inclusive practice
  • Strong communication and organisational skills
  • A positive, patient and professional approach
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Paediatric First Aid certificate (Desirable)
  • Knowledge of the EYFS statutory framework (Desirable)
