About Barnet’s Coroners Court

Coroners investigate certain deaths which are deemed to be unnatural, violent, or where the cause is unknown in their district. The Barnet Coroner’s Court serves the five boroughs of Barnet, Brent, Enfield, Haringey and Harrow, and Haringey Council is the lead authority and responsible for providing resources and staffing to support the Coroners and running of the court.

About the role

Join our team as a Coroner’s Court Assistant and become the cornerstone of daily operations at the Coroner’s Court. Your role will be pivotal in managing the first impressions of our service, handling general inquiries, and guiding visitors through security protocols. You will also provide essential administrative support, fulfil ushering responsibilities, and execute judicial instructions from the Coroners.

About you

The ideal candidate is empathetic and professional, capable of managing a diverse workload while upholding high standards of quality. With excellent organisational skills, you thrive under pressure and are proactive in advancing court proceedings. Proficiency in IT and case management systems is essential, as is the ability to maintain confidentiality and security. You are adaptable, willing to work flexible hours, and possess the confidence to address the public and manage conflict with poise.
