Job description

Position: Assistant Site Manager 

Salary: : Scale 4

Hours of work:36 hours per week, days and hours in rotation with the site manager, including some evening/weekend work,52 weeks per year

Contract Term: Fixed term contract for one year initially( Extension of the contract is possible for the right candidate)

Closing Date: Wednesday 21st May 2025 4pm

Interviews  and assessment to be held on Tuesday 3th June 2025

Start date :  To start as soon as possible

Coleridge Primary School is looking for a highly dedicated and motivated individual to take day-to-day responsibility for the security and safety of the school/centre site and premises. To be responsible for non-structural repairs and maintenance, painting and decoration, heating and ventilation and other general site services within the establishment. To oversee the general maintenance and cleanliness of the site and landscaping in order to provide an attractive, safe, secure and healthy environment for pupils, staff, parents, visitors and other users. 

Successful applicants will:

  • Have previous experience as a Site Manager, Maintenance Worker or equivalent, preferably in a public building (having gardening/landscaping work experience/skills will be an advantage)
  • Have experience in making non-structural repairs, painting and decorating, and using maintenance tools and equipment
  • Be proactive and demonstrate ability to work as part of a team as well as using their own initiative
  • Have basic knowledge of Health and Safety regulations as they relate to the operation of a public building/school and the application and use of basic equipment
  • Have previously dealt with service contractors for carrying out routine servicing/repairs either professionally or personally
  • Be able to multi-task and are physically and mentally resilient to cope with the busy and physical demands of the job
