Position: Assistant Head Teacher (Behaviour and Attitudes Lead)

Salary: : L10-14 £74,478- £81,119 (Inner London Pay)

Hours of work:  Full time

Contract Term: Permanent

Closing Date: : Monday 11th May 2026 at 9am

Interviews: Week beginning Monday 18th May 2026

Start date : 1st September 2026

The post will include a defined class teaching commitment, ensuring the Assistant Headteacher remains actively engaged in classroom practice; this is vital in maintaining credibility with staff, modelling high-quality teaching and learning, and strengthening the connection between strategic leadership decisions and the day-to-day realities of the classroom.  The successful candidate will have overall responsibility for leading on Behaviour and Attitudes including: Behaviour Lead, Pastoral Lead, Racial Equity Lead and Deputy Designated Safeguarding Lead.

We are seeking someone who:

  • Is an outstanding, inclusive and inspiring teacher with a strong record of improving rates of progress.
  • Has relevant experience of leadership.
  • Will be accountable for raising standards in relation to Behaviour and Attitudes and securing high quality provision for children in order to foster a positive, safe and nurturing environment for all.
  • Has the skills to implement change, line manage staff, use data effectively to monitor outcomes and highlight priorities for development as part of the school self-evaluation cycle.
  • Has skills to be able to be responsible for Behaviour and Attitudes across the school.
  • Is an exceptional, committed and inspiring person with a proven record in educational leadership.
  • Is a collegiate colleague who will share and jointly drive our ambition and strategic vision.
  • Has energy and enthusiasm and who will challenge and empower all members of the school.
  • Is a champion committed to being actively anti-racist in all aspects of our life and will lead as our Racial Equity Lead.
  • Is a champion committed to inclusion in all aspects of our life.
