About the role

As an Application Support Officer, you will provide application support for approximately 350 business applications, as well as additional technologies such as Microsoft 365, including SharePoint. Responsibilities include providing support for application-related issues, troubleshooting and resolving complex technical problems.

You’ll work with the infrastructure engineers and suppliers to implement fixes and enhancements, documenting support activities, and maintaining accurate records. Additionally, you’ll support upgrades and new software implementations by collaborating closely with the Application Specialist and Packagers to ensure seamless integration. Effective communication with stakeholders and users to provide updates and solutions is essential.

About the team

As a member of our team, you will collaborate with employees across the organisation to support users with application-related issues, ensuring smooth and efficient operations. You will report to the Applications Infrastructure Team Leader and work alongside five dedicated colleagues, including specialists, packagers, and support officers, who bring a diverse range of expertise to the team. Together, you will play a crucial role in delivering high-quality application support and maintaining a strong technical foundation for the organisation.

About you

We are seeking an exceptional Application Support Officer who excels in communication and has a proven track record in application support roles. The ideal candidate will possess strong technical expertise, outstanding problem-solving skills, and a keen eye for detail, demonstrating exceptional written and verbal communication abilities. They will work independently and collaboratively within a team, applying strong analytical and problem-solving skills to resolve technical issues. Additionally, they will utilise their knowledge of ITIL processes and best practices, ensuring an understanding and implementation of IT security measures.
