About the role

Based within the OT and sensory team you will be part of a committed and dedicated Sensory Impairment Team. You will be responsible for rehabilitation programmes for adults and young people with hearing impairments to develop their full potential, teaching orientation techniques, independent daily living and communication skills and onward referrals. Some tasks will include supporting the Occupational therapy team and the Rehabilitation officer for visual impairment with casework or minor duties.

The work is community based and there is an opportunity to work with other teams, agencies and the voluntary sector.

About you

We are seeking to appoint a part time Qualified Rehabilitation Officer (DipHE in Rehabilitation Studies or equivalent), who is flexible and self-motivated and can demonstrate experience within social care working with a range of diversities and disabilities. You will be under the directorate of adult social care you will demonstrate the Haringey values of being Caring, Collaborative, Community Focused, Courageous and Creative. To be able to establish and maintain links with professionals from other services and sectors of the community. A commitment to continued learning and professional development. You will need to demonstrate and have experience with prescription and ordering of equipment specific to hearing impairment; and an understanding of the ordering systems, procurement routes and troubleshooting for hearing impairment equipment.
