About the Role

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced team manager, providing leadership and support to a team of social workers. The successful candidate will play a vital role in ensuring that the team delivers a high-quality social work service to children and families, working in partnership with other statutory and third sector organizations.
The manager will be responsible for providing excellent team management and ensuring that staff members receive regular supervision, appraisal, and personal development opportunities. By supporting staff members to develop their skills and expertise, the manager will help to ensure that the team is effective in delivering the social work service to children and families.
In addition to their role in managing the team, the manager will also contribute to the development of practice and policy initiatives across children’s services. They will stay up-to-date with the latest developments in the field of social work and work collaboratively with other organizations to identify ways to improve the service provided. By contributing to the development of policies and practices that benefit children’s services, the manager will help to drive positive change across the sector.

About You

You will be responsible for the day-to-day management of the work allocated to your team, ensuring that this is completed to the highest standards and with the child’s welfare central to decision making, and as a Team Manager, you will be a strong leader who demonstrates good quality management oversight. You should:

  • It is essential that you have a relevant social work qualification and registered with SWE.
  • Have a minimum of 5 years post qualification experience, preferably in a similar setting.
  • Previous Social Worker management experience is desirable.
  • Demonstrate strong management and communication skills.
  • Have the ability to take responsibility for managing an individual caseload, having regard to the relative needs of all service users whilst ensuring an effective us of time and resources.
