About the role

This is a great opportunity to work as a Senior Legal Assistant in a busy in-house legal team. The role will work closely with our Litigation Lawyers and you will undertake work on a wide range of challenging and interesting cases. The team undertakes a wide variety of litigation and advice, which includes, all housing & anti-social behaviour litigation, Judicial Review, all types of debt recovery, commercial litigation, leaseholder compliance, contract disputes and other miscellaneous litigation.

The focus of this role will be mainly civil litigation such as commercial and service charge debt recovery, leasehold compliance, land disputes, housing litigation and defending miscellaneous claims brought against the Council. 

This is an exciting time to join a Lexcel accredited in-house legal team, which is delivering an efficient and high-quality legal service to enable the council to deliver its corporate priorities.  We are looking for confident, motivated, resilient people with strong communication and influencing skills to be part of our excellent and friendly legal team.

About you

We are looking for experienced candidates who are able to conduct a varied and interesting range of litigation and provide clear, concise advice. You will able to work on your own initiative, objectively, calmly and efficiently under pressure in order to deal with priorities and manage time. You must also be able to develop and maintain good relationships with clients and key stakeholders.
