About the Role

We are transforming the Revenues team here in Haringey. Come and be part of this exciting opportunity.
We are looking for an experienced and enthusiastic individual to directly manage and develop a team of officers within our Council Tax Billing & Collection team. The successful candidate will support the Revenues Manager and wider Revenues Management team in the delivery of improvements to the service.
The role described involves serving as the operational lead for a specific segment of the Revenues service, with a primary focus on delivering an exceptional standard of service to residents, businesses, and stakeholders. The individual in this position is tasked with managing and leading a team responsible for the billing and recovery processes related to Council Tax, Business Rates, and BID Levy. This involves overseeing the day-to-day operations of the team, ensuring efficiency and accuracy in handling financial matters for both individual residents and businesses.
One of the critical responsibilities of this role is to spearhead key service improvements aligned with the overarching objectives of the Revenues services. This involves taking a proactive approach to identify areas for enhancement, whether in processes, technology, or customer interactions. The individual must formulate and implement strategic plans to drive these improvements, ensuring that they are not only in line with the organization’s goals but are also executed within established timelines and budget constraints.
In summary, this position combines operational leadership, team management, and strategic planning to optimize the billing and recovery processes within the Revenues service, ultimately aiming to provide the highest standard of service to residents, businesses, and stakeholders.

About You

The candidate demonstrates a commitment to continuous professional development and possesses extensive knowledge of Council Tax and Business Rates legislation. Their managerial experience includes overseeing performance and quality management processes within a Revenues environment. Effective communication skills, both internally and externally, are evident, and the candidate is proficient in ICT, including Microsoft applications. The ability to analyse data, prioritise tasks, and work under pressure is highlighted. The candidate’s flexibility and commitment to customer-focused service, coupled with an accurate and methodical approach to work, make them well-suited for a leadership role in the Revenues service.
