About Haringey

The London Association of Directors of Public Health (ADPHL) supports Directors of Public Health across 32 local authorities. We’ve built a vibrant, sector-leading partnership with high levels of trust and buy-in. We work closely with our partners, including London Councils, OHID, NHS England, and the Greater London Authority.

Our programme of peer-support, leadership development, service innovation and joint commissioning helps boroughs address some of the huge public health challenges facing London: air quality, child obesity, mental wellbeing, smoking and sexual health as well as ‘Living with Covid’, to name a few.

About the Role

This is an exciting role part of ADPH London’s Core team, supporting public health across London.  You will take a lead on specific areas of work identified in the ADPH London’s collaborative work programme, including cross-borough initiatives, themed networks, and sector-led improvement.

You will work in partnership with a range of public partner organisations and make an important contribution to the development of work to reduce health inequalities and improve the health and wellbeing of the local population.

About You

The successful candidate will be a natural collaborator with excellent project management skills, who will bring energy, drive and innovation to our team.

You will have at least 2 years’ experience of working within local government, the NHS or other relevant setting.   You should have a keen interest in the role of public health in reducing health inequalities and understand the value of partnership work.  A qualification or experience in Public Health is essential.

Benefits

We offer a local authority pension and a healthy work-life balance, with flexible working hours, generous annual leave, and an interest free travel loan. Our work is hybrid, mainly home-based with regular office days at locations in Central London or Haringey. We offer many opportunities for professional development including training, shadowing, and mentoring. You will be part of a wide professional network, across London and the UK.
