About the role
With the Council’s new build programme underway and new Housing Association developments coming on-stream, there are amazing opportunities to meet the housing needs of households who are most in need of accommodation.
We are looking for a Lettings Assistant to provide a responsive permanent accommodation lettings service and incorporates the individual needs and circumstances of customers (where these can be met) providing support to the lettings team.
The successful candidate will possess a good understanding of a choice-based lettings system and social housing allocations and experience of delivering a housing service to the public in a housing environment. Great communications skills both verbally and written, and have good experience in the use of Microsoft packages.
The team provides an effective, professional lettings service and are responsible for allocating and lettings of Council homes and nominations of prospective tenants to the homes of Registered Social Landlords, in accordance with legislation, Haringey Council’s Allocations Policy and the Council’s procedures, using a combination of choice-based lettings or direct lets.
About you
We are seeking an enthusiastic individual, with a can do, positive and focused attitude, to provide essential support to the lettings team. Must demonstrate good IT skills and ability to use Microsoft packages. Great communication skills both written and verbal. Good understanding of choice-based lettings system and social housing allocations, legislation and policy. Experience of delivering a service to the public in a housing environment. A flexible approach to meet the demands of the business and an ability to self manage. Must possess good organisational skills and administration. A good understanding of the Allocations Policy.
