About the Role
We are looking for committed and passionate Key Workers who have the skills and qualities to support and manage procedures, to deliver the best outcomes for the children and young people of Haringey.
The role will encompass coaching, mentoring, and supporting the child/young person to encourage greater social inclusion, and to continually promote, safeguard and protect the welfare of each child/young person whilst acting as a positive role mode.
You will be responsible to complete comprehensive multi-agency assessments to identify each child/young person’s challenges and to provide clear guidance to ensure that the right exit strategy is sought and to work meticulously in the context of our AMBIT model. Other aspects of the role will include responsibility to plan, evaluate, implement, and review individual plans to enhance the capabilities and independence of the service users.
Ensuring clear communication with the young people is appropriate and assessing, needs and wishes of each young person, whilst being mindful of their complex needs and challenging behaviours.
About You
The ideal candidate will have had previous experience of working within a residential children’s home and will hold Health and Social Care Level 3 or the equivalent. You will need to demonstrate an understanding, knowledge, and ability to follow guidelines that ensures compliances with Health and Safety at Work, Data Protection, and other statutory requirements.
It is essential that you demonstrate a true passion for working with children. The role commands empathy and the ability to deal with sensitive issues, there you will need to exercise an in-depth understanding of social emotional and behavioural difficulties and how these may impact the lives of the young people that you will support. You will be an effective and clear communicator, both written and verbally with a core focus of safeguarding children as your motivator.
You will need to be an empowering, approachable, and resilient individual with a strong work ethic and “can-do attitude”. Being an advocate for accountability of your work and a focussed proactive mindset are essential requirements for this position.
