About the role
This is an exciting time to join our team. Haringey is a borough of opportunities and potential and is fast becoming a celebrated destination for music and sport and will be Borough of Culture for 2027. We recently launched Opportunity Haringey our new Inclusive Economy Framework which sets our ambition to build on our strengths and creativity to support a fairer and greener economy. Working with the Local Economy Lead the Inclusive Economy Manager is a key post that will lead on a number of Opportunity Haringey priority workstreams. Working in a flexible way using our strong partnerships this post holder will lead a team to develop and implement our sector-based work plans for our key growth sectors, market strategy, night-time and evening economies and social value work to promote Haringey as a place to invest, create jobs and do business. The successful candidate will successfully work with colleagues across the Council as well as external partners and stakeholders to ensure outcomes are achieved.

Make a real difference! Join our new Inclusive Economy service, where you’ll be instrumental in delivering Opportunity Haringey, the borough’s Inclusive Economy Framework. We have several exciting new roles available within the service. We’re seeking motivated individuals who are passionate about providing high-quality support to diverse local communities and fostering a more inclusive economy across all areas, from Wood Green to Crouch End, Alexandra Palace to Tottenham. This is the perfect time to join us in executing our plans, supporting local businesses and residents, and preparing for the London Borough of Culture 2027 and Euro 2028.
About you
The successful candidate will have a strong understanding of economic development, growth levers, high-growth sectors, and the current economic context at Haringey, London, and national levels. They will have experience in successfully developing, implementing, and delivering a range of innovative and best practice programmes and approaches that drive job creation and local economic growth. The candidate will also be adept at building strong links with the local business community, particularly in relation to skills and employment. They will be skilled in partnership working, collaborating across the service and with council colleagues, including the Placemaking team on our Shaping Tottenham and Wood Green programmes, as well as with local and sub-regional partners in developing policy and bidding for funds. Additionally, they will have a proven ability to present and explain ideas and policies to external audiences. Experience in leading multidisciplinary programmes and teams to deliver strategic objectives, while effectively managing change, is essential. The candidate will also need to manage budgets effectively, ensuring budget forecasts are accurate, funds are appropriately drawn down, and the service operates within budget.
