Contract: Full Time, Permanent

Working Arrangement: Hybrid/ Flexible, must be in the office a minimum of 2 days per week

Hours: 36 Hours per week

About the role

This post will be responsible for the administrative tasks of the Corporate Health and Safety Team and for giving the required support to colleagues by organising meetings, schedules, basic accounting tasks, etc. The Co-Ordinator is the gatekeeper and has control over the different online systems and databases that the team uses, but will also compile the required data to produce management reports.

The successful candidate will work very closely with colleagues in the organisation, not just the Corporate H&S Team. They will be the point of contact during working hours, which involves managing the H&S inbox, incoming calls and requests. 

Main Responsibilities

We are looking for a dynamic, highly organised individual that strives to produce high quality work on a busy environment, where priorities need to be regularly re-evaluated. The successful candidate will have excellent written skills and a keen attention to detail.
This important role will be responsible for keeping the team activities organised whilst gathering and analysing the available data to produce management reports. Proficient use of MS Office package is essential. 

  1. Work collaboratively with staff across the organisation to ensure a high quality health and safety management system is maintained.
  2. To work flexibly across service areas and with partners to achieve the objectives of the Council.
  3. To raise health and safety performance in Haringey by contributing to a culture of continuous improvement and efficiency.
  4. To provide first line support in relation to any enquiries directed to the team, monitoring the H&S team inbox and the staff inquiry line.
  5. To provide organisational support to the Health and Safety Team.

It is desirable that the candidate has an interest in health and safety and previous experience in a similar role. 

Knowledge and Experience

Understanding, knowledge and ability to follow guidelines that ensures compliance with Health and Safety at Work, Data Protection and other statutory requirements.

Understanding and commitment to promoting and implementing the Council’s Equal Opportunities policies.

Knowledge and experience of using IT.

To undertake any other temporary responsibilities aligned with the overall purpose and grade of the role.
